Additional posting

Summary 2

Part 1:

The high-rise building with a wonderful view was moved to the west side of the port of Sweden. The system of apartment windows is without the curtain and this is what makes the home furniture and toys easy to see. And this is one of a number of development plans in the region

In order to include the final design the developer has to take 10 green features from a list of 35. This includes the installation of shelving and a region using materials that were used by the new suitable way.

The developer discovered that there are several kinds of animals and plants which have been moved to the western port. Planners and residents usually take good marks for making biodiversity a priority. And planners have achieved most of the goals set for them, but need to use more green spaces.

Has been encouraging officials in terms of marketing real estate because people began to buy apartments in the Bo01, which means the possibility of the success of the Bo02 and Bo03 is very large. It is important to teach children the preservation of the environment, to recover the land of death by giving them an incentive. And we must educate the elderly and everyone in the implantation of biological diversity.

Finally Malmö has reached now great success and is a catalyst for the living and the natural biodiversity.

Part 2:

Increase the green area in the new Western Harbour in Malmö.

Get people to promote biodiversity

Part 3:

It is pretty good article; it is new for me. I have learned new things about new designs of houses. I hope that the article contains the new residents view point about it.

The main thing that I don’t like about this article is it has a lot of difficult words.

Climate change review

Global warming is changing the temperature of the atmosphere and the main cause of this is excess gas, resulting from pollution, and if there is no reduction in these gases in the coming days, we really will live in a poor environment.

Lack of knowledge among people of the harm global warming is during the biggest problem, because global warming affects all parts of the world and the first impact is the high temperature, which leads to melting of ice, which means the high water level.(www.wikipedia.com) Lowland areas are most at risk from this because it is easy for water to destroy plants and animals, and help the migration of people from these areas because it will be a charged environment. Finally carbon emission is the biggest problem in global warming” (http://library.thinkquest.org).

As we knew there are many different ways to stop global warming. As the solution we must inform people so they will know about global warming. If people know about it they will try to decrease their carbon trace. As a solution we must reduce giving out the CO2 in the cars, industries and cities. In addition the countries and companies can do many things to decrease this thins using cool city. “Cool Cities not only bring real solutions at local levels they also showcase solutions for others to model and build leadership to ensure solutions are implemented at state levels and nationwide”(www.coolcities.com).

In my opinion, talk about global warming is exaggerated, and people are talking about solution, rather than implementing them. And most of these solutions will help us in the short term only, and we must find other solutions to help us in the long term.

Cool City

Difficulties associated with economic development were not the product of a moment but they exist at the beginning of the industrial revolution; increase in pollution and emissions of carbon dioxide are examples of the economic difficulties. One of the most important solutions that we should have is to stop the emissions of carbon dioxide, also using alternative fuel in vehicles is a good solution. We are talking about carbon emissions and now we have to mention that the sources of these emissions, particularly buildings and the different transport methods are considered the largest sources.
Cool City is a green area that has the lowest rate of carbon dioxide and it will offer light transit trail, solar water taxis and hybrid cars for transportation. We will see there also planting trees and waterways and there will be three main city zones: Commercial, Cultural and Residential.

My opinion

I think Cool City is a good idea to reduce the risk of global warming and it could protect us from diseases that come from pollution.

European Initiative

Summary 3

Q1: The Summary

The European Union has made a government program. 27 countries committed themselves to an agreement to reduce emissions of carbon dioxide and there would be flexibility in dealing with some countries that rely on nuclear energy, e.g. France
Therefore, all the power stations in Europe should store carbon to eliminate carbon emissions. The plan also includes the carbon emitted by cars and therefore there will be a new program to urge the abandonment of fossil fuels.
Certainly there would be difficulties; renewable energy is too expensive; add to that, the problems faced by EU companies, facing competition from Indian, Chinese and US companies which are still using cheaper fossil fuels.
It is a bold step and was considered a useful step forward in the European Union which was fully convinced that there should be a change. The European Union was established to provide assistance because it can not be one country alone.
Germany has played a pivotal role in the European Union for the intermediate solutions and French then introduced more flexible solutions.

Q2: The Main idea

The European continent is the best in the world for the prevention of emissions; through the efforts shown by the EU there is awareness all over the world.

Q3: Comments

This is an amazing long article; it is talking about very important things in life. I am interested in this article and I hope to know more and more about the new UN plan.

My carbon footprint

I measured my carbon footprint at http://footprint.wwf.org.uk/ & it was 2.59.

Most of the students have almost a similar footprint number. The average figure for CRE was 3.87. The main factors which contributed to my figure were classified as:

a) travel

b) stuff

c) food

Admitting the truth, I am, in a way, personally responsible for allowing the emission of a specific greenhouse gas that has a huge impact upon our world; the world of humans. True, a lot of companies, which include ADMC, emit such gases (footprint greenhouse gases), though UAE’s emission of such gases is the highest per head.

If I could reduce the harm I personally cause, then I would reduce using consumer goods and bathroom products. However, the problem is I don’t spend in any of the two mentioned sectors. In fact, the sector that contributes most to the addition of the gases is the car that I daily use. I can simply switch to using trains, but the problem is, trains are not available in Abu Dhabi, yet. I do realize the fact that public buses are available, but anyway, why would I use them when the distance from where I live at to my work takes only a few minutes? Not only this, but because I’ve realized that those public buses that millions use, daily, emit even more dangerous gases that harm the environment, by pollution. As to my personal use of airplanes, I only travel once a year.

However, this raises an important point, when I come to talk of the home I live in. In Bani Yas I currently live with my parents, so there’s nothing much I can do reduce the footprint of the harm I cause, except for turning off the durable goods, which I’m already doing.

Last but not least, my consumption of food can also play an important role to reduce my carbon footprint. As the quiz clearly stated, if I become a vegetarian, I would be considered as a person who lends a hand to the environment. However, I eat two meals a day, in order not to over consume food more than the quantity I am supposed to consume.

An Inconvenient Truth Reviw

There are a lot of reviews that talk about the Inconvenient Truth movie. Most of these reviews agree with it but some others do not.

Brandon Fibbs, http://brandonfibbs.com/2006/05/24/an-inconvenient-truth/ , in a favorable review, Brandon says Al Gore’s movie is correct. People all around the world agree that global warming already exists and everyone must work to stop this global warming. Al Gore used several ways to persuade the people who are not sure such as photos, short clips and charts. The film is not pessimistic, but it presents a realistic problem. To add to this, the movie discussed in the end, the solutions which can save the earth.

Eric, http://www.realclimate.org/index.php/archives/2006/05/al-gores-movie/, in a more negative review, says that the movie is talking about Al Gore much more than the global warming. The film dealt with something far away from the main point of the film such as when he talks about political points.

I agree with Brandon Fibbs because the global warming is really a big problem and we have to be more and more careful about it. I think that the movie was not enough, but it should be said to have contributed to raising awareness for global warming. The last thing I want to say about the movie is the photos are so shocking

An Inconvenient Truth

Global Warming is caused by many things and every day scientists come out with a new one. The causes are divided into two groups, natural causes and man-made. One natural cause is the big release of methane gas in the Arctic. The other causes are the man-made causes which are the most important reason for this big issue such as using fossil fuels. These led to carbon dioxide emissions from trucks, carbon dioxide from airplanes, and carbon dioxide from buildings. We have to keep our sight clear and try to stop global warming from spreading. And we have to know how much loss global warming may cause to the world.

GLOBAL WARMING

Nowadays the most important problem in the world is global warming. Everybody believes that the world temperature is increasing because of carbon dioxide from our cars, factories and power plants and so many others. Furthermore, studies showed that the world temperature has risen by about 1F in the last century. Moreover, climate change has been caused by the human activities in their daily lives.

There are lots of causes which make global warming happen. Firstly, is atmospheric greenhouse gases (water vapor, carbon dioxide, and other gases); scientists say that temperatures would be much lower than they are now without the greenhouse effect. Secondly, is air pollution caused by cars, trains, factories and fires. China is the largest source of global warming pollution in the world.

Finally, I think we have to use gas and carbon less. Everybody has to change his way of life, so that we can avoid this problem in the future.

ABOUT MYSELF

My name is Ayoob. I am 21 years old. I have a secondary school certificate and now I am a student in HCT. I live in Bany Yas with my parents, 4 brothers and 4 sisters and I am the youngest. My favorite hobbies are watching football matches and going out with my friends.

I am still unmarried; I will think about that when I get a job. Now I am just thinking about my study. I am studying higher diploma business program. I have visited Bahrain, Kuwait, KSA and Oman.

Global warming is one of the dangerous events that is happening in the earth. Burning oil and gases has a bad effect in the atmosphere and this may warm the earth and change the climate. The most dangerous effect is large and fast change in climate because it has a big effect on the planet and animals. I think we have to burn less oil and gas to reduce this dangerous rate.
